Sound familiar?

You've built the house.
Now you're stuck with the mud.

You've spent months (or years) getting your home right. But every time you look outside you see a forest of weeds and a to-do list you don't have time to solve.

You have ideas but you're not sure which are viable. Pinterest is just overwhelming. And you're worried about spending $120k+ on something that won't look right, won't grow properly, or will be a maintenance nightmare in five years.

You don't need more ideas. You need a clear, considered plan — from someone who's done this a hundred times.

La is an absolutely amazing person and designer. From the very beginning she has shown us why she is the best. La listens to every single idea you have and tries to incorporate it in her designs. We were absolutely blown away with what she turned our outdoor space into. I would not recommend any other landscape designer.

We’ve been working with La to design and establish an outdoor concept for our knockdown rebuild project. La is a fantastic listener who took our scattered ideas and inspiration images and transformed them into a cohesive, beautifully considered design. Her attention to detail and the quality of her work have exceeded our expectations.

We recently engaged La to design a concept plan and planting plan for our large sloping block in north east Melbourne. We were very impressed with the level of detail at this concept stage. The plan she has designed us is incredibly beautiful — my Mum says it’s the type of garden you would see on TV getting an award!

It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with La. She is extremely professional & really understood the picture I had in my head & put it down on the landscaping plan. She kept our requirements as a priority, especially finding all non-toxic plants to accommodate our precious Labrador. Totally recommend!

Do you construct gardens as well as design?

We see the project through the whole process of design, tendering, construction and then growth/maintenance. We work with several trusted very experienced contractors and facilitate the whole construction phase. We do not manage construction for gardens we haven't designed.

Do your offer construction only?

No, we only offer construction to our design clients.

How long does it take to get initial concept designs?

Concepts are usually delivered within 6-12 weeks depending on how busy the studio is.

How long does it take from design to construction?

Provided your garden doesn't require council permits to achieve, the design, tendering and construction phases can take as little as 8-12 months to complete. Some gardens take many years to complete when they are built in stages. Just imagine what your garden could look like, this time next year!

I'm building / extending / renovating my house... when should I get my garden design done?

As soon as possible. For the best indoor outdoor flow, you need to consider the property as a whole or you will always be making compromises down the track.

How much does professional landscaping cost?

Each block and brief is unique so speaking broadly, a landscaping budget of around 10-15% of the current property value (not including swimming pools or spas) is recommended. Some of our clients spend more than this when they are creating their forever-garden or creating a landscape of significance for future generations. A number of factors effect how much the landscaping with cost – the more hardscaping required (decks, patios, pergolas, retaining walls, paving, raised beds, paths, outdoor kitchens etc) the higher the landscaping budget will need to be, and naturally, the larger and more sloping the block, the more landscaping is generally required. We work through your budget early on in the briefing process to ensure your garden goals and budget are aligned.

How much do initial concept designs cost?

Prices start at $4,500 for a front or back garden. Once we know your full brief and we've seen your property, we will match you to a package and create a fee proposal for your project.

How much should I budget for the whole design process (including initial concepts)?

As a ballpark allow 5-10% of your landscaping budget for design: For build budgets under 100K we recommend allowing 10% for design. Ie. If you're planning on spending $80K on your landscaping allow for around $8K for design. For build budgets over 100K we recommend allowing 5-10% for design. Ie. if you're planning on spending 200K on the landscaping, allow $10K + for the design process.

Do you design for DIY construction?

Yes! If you want to build the garden over time to save costs, having a solid plan can be invaluable in ensuring you don't waste time and money along the way. We design differently for a DIY construction, selecting different materials and layouts, to make it easier to achieve the intended result.

Do you design for very small areas or a couple of garden beds?

Generally no, this approach isn't cost effective so we tackle whole blocks, or large zones like a back or a front gardens.
